Telford Harriers was formed in October 1984, and gained affiliation to the Shropshire Amateur Athletic Association in the spring of 1985. Since then the club has grown with membership of over 120, from 17 to 63 year olds, with such a spread of ages and around 50 members turning up for training all abilities are catered for.
The club is affiliated to Midland Counties AA, The British Triathlon Association and is also a member of both The Birmingham and North Staffs cross-country leagues (both men and women).
Telford Harriers still sells itself on running for fun even though the current membership has a wealth of experience in competitive racing, whether road, cross country, fell running or triathlons. We also organise the very popular Ironbridge Half Marathon in March and Tour Of Telford in July.
